An article written by Helen Hockx-Yu, Program Manager, Digital Asset Strategy, has been published in the latest issue of the Journal of Digital Media Management, a peer-reviewed, professional journal for all those involved in the capture, storage and effective application of digital media assets.
The article is entitled "Digital asset management and libraries, archives and museums: separation and convergence" and describes Notre Dame's effort to develop a common solution for the life-cycle management of video assets. It argues that modularisation and convergence of digital asset management and digital preservation systems offer the best of both worlds and life-cycle support for digital assets.
